most days
she was ok
most days she did not have to face
the actual human need
for connection
attention
the simple “how was your day”
and the actual someone listening
she was an independent woman
strong
incredible
admired
most days she enjoyed
doing everything
just the way she liked it
and then there were days
where her un fed
basic
human
needs

roared out through feelings
and the spiritual teachers said
“clear it”
and the therapists said
“trauma”
on those days she digs through the swamp
and looks for things to blame
tears herself to bits
“what is my problem”
but what if she just admitted
this ache in her heart
this apathetic voice in her head
this heavy fog
are actually the sensations
of loneliness and isolation
inside of the body
of a social animal
and what if it was met with
yes
you feel that
yes
you have unmet needs
yes
it is normal to have a hard time with that
